No you can't. Deinstall unuseful stuff or do a virus/spam scan. Good luck

Um maybe because you have a lot of things running or you have spyware. It's not Guild Wars. I've installed it on a clean machine that has nothing else but office programs and it has no problems since then.

Yes. Uninstall now or else your computer will explode.

Failing the software check, try your hardware. Intakes and vents can become clogged up with dust at best, or a part may need replacing, which is unlikely, but...

Or...simply turn off your anti-virus program. Yes! I said turn them off. These programs scan every incoming and outcoming package from your computer and make your computer slow.

Turn off all programs not needed to run the game client, ( music, messengers, e-mail and such) but ALWAYS leave anti-virus running and firewall as well

Not pointing this at the OP, but in general.
If you have to turn off your virus scanner to play, you either have an OLD computer or you must be using some crappy hog of a program like norton or mcafee.

For a free prog, AVG FTW.

For the best virus prot you can buy, NOD32 FTW.

I used AVG for about 12 months after getting fed up of norton bloatware and I started to get a little suspicious because of the lack of virus alerts I was getting so I switched to Avast. It found 2 infected files as soon as it was installed. I would recomend Avast over AVG for a free scanner any day.

I would guess that the Op just needs to give his system an enema, it's probably just bloated with spyware and other internet silt, download spybot s&d and do a full scan. Search for a prog called crap cleaner (its also free) and run that to tidy things up and also do a defrag.
After that, download firefox and the adblock+ plug-in and you'll find that you wont get any of the crap back and browsing will be so much better.
